ARTIST: Marjorie Inwood

This portrait is so beautiful. This beauty is old, vintage and painted in warm chocolatey tones. I imagine this is a beautiful example of an art student’s work, and is so endearing in its simplicity., and unfussy ambiance.

There is a very small amount of lifting in tiny spots, and as this was not framed when I stumbled across her, I suspect she has not been particularly protected. I have had her for years, and have leaned and loaned her for styling shoots. She is quite dainty in presence and in scale.

Warm tones, old fashioned hair styling and dress, so exquisite and endearing. Where was Miss Mystery going on this day, what was happening in her life?

She was born in South Bend, IN on June 29, 1922. She studied art at Art Student League. Did one of her classmates paint this portrait in class, who knows? She certainly is magnificent. It’s going to be so difficult to part with this beauty.
